Meet the Ingredients - Part 2: Beeswax

March 20, 2018

The next #beepower ingredient on our list is beeswax. Quite frankly it goes hand in hand with honey, and you won't find one without the other in a hive.

In nature, beeswax is used by honey bees to build the honeycomb cells. When honey is ready for harvesting, beekeepers uncap each cell and the honey will drain out.

It's really quite an amazing process, and if you ever get the chance to see it up close I highly recommend watching it!

In terms of skincare, beeswax is another powerhouse of benefits. Among them:

  • It locks in moisture, keeping your skin softer and smoother longer.

  • It won't clog pores! Despite common myths and it's waxy texture, beeswax will not clog your pores!

  • Beeswax carries antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, and antiviral properties

  • Beeswax is high in vitamin A, making it excellent for aiding in stimulating the production of skin cells

Seriously guys, this is what #beepower is all about. This is also why we load up our skincare products with beeswax wherever we can! For starters, be sure to check out our lip balms and face creams!
